Rental Application Checklist

What to have ready before you apply

A little preparation makes the application process much easier. Most of the items we require are below, however, exact requirements we request may vary by property, state, screening provider, and applicant circumstances.

1. Basic Applicant Information

☐ Full legal name

☐ Date of birth

☐ Current residential address

☐ Email address and telephone number

☐ Valid government-issued photo identification

2. Household Information

☐ Names of all adults who will occupy the home

☐ Names and ages of minor occupants, when requested

☐ Co-applicant information for each adult applicant, if applicable

☐ Pet or animal information, when applicable

3. Income & Employment Documentation

☐ Current employer or other lawful source(s) of income

☐ Recent pay stubs or other proof of income

☐ Employer contact information or employment verification, when requested

☐ For self-employed applicants: tax documents, bank statements, profit-and-loss information, or other acceptable proof of income, as requested

☐ Benefit, retirement, assistance, or award documentation when used to verify income

4. Rental & Residential History

☐ Current and previous addresses

☐ Current and/or previous landlord or property manager contact information

☐ Dates of residency and monthly rent, when requested

☐ Reason for moving, when requested

5. Screening Information & Authorization

☐ Information needed for identity and screening verification, such as a Social Security number or other permitted identifier, when requested

☐ Authorization for any lawful credit, rental-history, income, identity, or background screening required for the property

☐ Application or screening fee, if applicable and permitted by law

6. Move-In & Property Details

☐ Desired move-in date

☐ Property or location you are applying for

☐ Any requested vehicle information, if applicable

☐ Funds for required deposits and move-in charges after approval (do not submit unless instructed)

Before You Hit Submit

☐ Complete every required field and answer truthfully.

☐ Upload clear, readable copies of requested documents.

☐ Make sure names and contact information match your supporting documents.

☐ If each adult must submit a separate application, confirm everyone has completed theirs.

☐ Review the property-specific rental criteria, fees, and next steps before submitting.
